Will Smith’s horrific 2022 Oscar incident, in which he smacked actor-comedian Chris Rock on stage, was just revealed by jada Pinkett Smith. Mr. Smith assaulted Mr. Rock at the Academy Awards ceremony in March 2022 after the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s alopecia, which causes bald spots and hair loss. Mr. Smith was barred from attending Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences events, including the Oscars, for ten years as a result of the incident. He has now apologized several times for his behavior, including to Mr. Rock.
Ms. Smith stated in an interview with People Magazine that she originally assumed her husband’s hit on Mr. Rock at the Academy Award was a pre-planned farce “I thought, ‘This is a skit’,” she told the outlet while discussing her new book ‘Worthy’.
“I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him.’ It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I even realized it wasn’t a skit,” Ms Pinkett Smith continued.
