An American guy has broken the world record by attending 777 movie screenings in a single year. According to Guinness World Records, Zach Swope from the USA achieved the record for the most films viewed in theatre in one year after attending 777 screenings between July 2022 and 2023. Vincent Krohn from France established the previous record of 715 in 2018. Zach,32, describes himself as a “huge lover of film” who goes to the movies 100-150 times each year.
He watched a wide range of films for his record-breaking efforts, beginning with “Minions: Rise of Gru” and ending with “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”
Zach Was Severely Forbidden from Eating or Drinking While Watching the Movies
According to the British reference book, in order to obtain the record, all films must be seen in their full and independent of any other activity, which means Zach could not snooze or check his while at the cinema.
In fact, Zach was severely forbidden from eating or drinking while watching the movies the theatre employees meticulously supervised him throughout each movie to verify that he complied with all of the rules.
He Usually Watched the Majority of the Films at Regal Cinemas
He usually watched the majority of the films at Regal Cinemas, where he could utilize his Regal Unlimited Membership to watch an unlimited number of movies for just $22 each month.
“Zach undertook this challenge while working a full-time job. He worked every weekday from 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., after which he would visit the cinema to watch up to three films, and on weekends he would watch more,” according to the GWR.
