Arthur Founded Crawling Under a Fence

Arthur was founded crawling under a fence in the rural town of New Holland, Lancaster County, according to the organization. The property owner initially told the PSPCA that the injured dog’s head wound was caused by a fence, but vets later determined that he had been shot between the eyes and seemed left for dead. The dog’s head wound was large and debris-filled “He was in too much pain for a full exam, so he was started on pain medication & antibiotics.” Organization added.

The shelter also stated that when the veterinary staff treated him for the wound, an x-ray revealed how close the bullet fragments came to killing him.

“Arthur had been shot at an angle that miraculously missed his brain. The bullet left a hole in Arthur’s head & caused damage to his airway passages and mouth. He was covered in fleas, had ear infections and was anaemic,” PSPCA wrote in the caption.

The dog thankfully survived. However, it is still unknown who shot the dog. The PSPCA is looking for the real culprit for this crime.

PSPCA is Optimistic that Arthur Will Recover Completely

All the while, Arthur is doing fantastically well. He spends his days in the hospital receiving oral and topical antibiotics. Additionally, his wound is recovering brilliantly, and his respiration has markedly enhanced. PSPCA is positive that Arthur will recover completely.
