Burglar Engages with The Dog and Even Giving It Belly Rubs
The event occurred On July 15, in San Diego, California. In the viral video, the robber is seen riding a bicycle. As he departs the garage with the stolen bike, The Golden Retriever approaches him. Instead of being afraid or fleeing, the burglar engages with the dog, even giving it belly rubs.
He leaves the bike inside the store and begins a friendly conversation with the dog, saying “Hi buddy.” You are the coolest dog I’ve ever known” and “I love you too.” The thief asks the dog, about his father and then audibly calls out ‘dad’, presumably in an attempt to summon the dog’s owner.

Later, the thief departs with a 2019 black Electra 3-speed bicycle valued at $1300. The San Diego Police Department shared the video on Instagram. They also seek help from civilians.
The suspect is described as a white male, last seen wearing a blue and white hat, grey shirt, blue shorts, and orange athletic shoes. He was carrying a black and blue backpack.
